Density distribution of Earth’s resonant ring under varying planetary configurations for β = 0.01 (a), as well as corresponding azimuthally averaged radial profiles (b), and azimuthal profiles at a heliocentric distance of 1 au (c). The incremental increase of ring density with the removal of other planets is apparent. Counterintuitively, Venus shows only little influence on the inner edge of Earth’s resonant ring. Mars and Jupiter on the other hand suppress both the inner and outer edge of the ring confining its overall width, while also significantly reducing the peak density of the azimuthal average.
