Results of the grid of models applying typical conditions for diffuse or translucent clouds in order to reproduce the observations towards the cloud at v_LSR =−17 km s⁻¹. The deviation between observations and model at the time of best agreement t_best is given by D(t_best, r), which is plotted versus density, temperature, and visual extinction. The best-fit model is given at a time t_best = 6.2 × 10⁶ yr and has the following parameters: (n(H), A_V, T_gas) = (300 cm⁻³, 3 mag, 40 K).
