Morphological asymmetry A_morph vs. kinematic asymmetry A_kin for our z = 1.5 (proto-)cluster sample. Filled circles denote galaxies with determined V_max, and open circles represent galaxies with disturbed or nonrotating velocity fields for which V_max could not be derived. For comparison, we also show spirals from the low-redshift cluster A901/902 at z = 0.17 (small open squares), using data from Bösch et al. (2013a). The imaging of the z = 0.17 galaxies has been degraded to match the image quality of the z = 1.5 data, and also the derivation of A_kin ensured comparable spatial resolutions in the two data sets.
