Space-based parallax in Gaia16aye. As Gaia is separated by 0.01 au from the Earth, the Gaia light curve (black) differs slightly from Earth-based observations (grey curve). Space parallax can be measured through two fortuitous Gaia data points collected near HJD′∼7714. All measurements are transformed into the LT i-band magnitude scale.
