Colorscale of the polarized emission of NGC 4631 at C-band (C + D configurations combined) with the intrinsic magnetic field orientation (line segments of equal length) at C-band obtained with RM-synthesis. Polarization angles were calculated at pixels where the polarized intensity is larger than 5σ (where σ is the rms noise in Stokes Q and U). Contours correspond to the 5.99 GHz total power emission (VLA + Effelsberg), refer to Mora-Partiarroyo et al. (2019) for details concerning the total intensity emission. All data plotted have an angular resolution of 7″ FWHM. Contour levels are at 18 μJy beam−1 × (3, 6, 12, 24, 48, 96, 192, 384). The polarized spurs in the north-eastern quadrant have been labeled 1 and 2.
