For a sample of S4G disc galaxies with inclinations lower than 65°, we show a comparison of direct measurements of black hole masses from the compilations by Graham & Scott (2013), Sahu et al. (2019), Davis et al. (2019) – and also from Cisternas et al. (2013) (obtained via MBH − σ* relation and using direct measurements) – with the ones estimated using LEDA’s central velocity dispersions. In red, we show the straight line y = x.
