Final semimajor axes and eccentricities of all the simulated giant planets that survived to the end of the 10 Myr simulation. We say that a simulation is resolved if there was at least one ejection or collision. Most runs result in two surviving planets (blue) and nearly all planets with e >  0.9 appear in two-planet systems. For unresolved systems, some of the planets may be ejected in the future. Unresolved systems are excluded from our analysis to avoid this potential source of bias.
