Table B.1.
List of parameters and their priors.
Parameter | Description | Prior |
---|---|---|
β | β-model slope | pos-normal(0.67,10) |
rc | β-model core radius | pos-normal(0,100) |
in arcminutes | ||
m | Scaling relation slope | ∝(1+m2)−3/2 |
b | Scaling relation intercept | non-informative uniform |
λy | Intrinsic scatter in y | pos-normal(0,10) |
λxy | Correlation coefficient | uniform[−1,1] |
between x and y |
Notes. The prior of the scaling relation slope is assumed to be uniform in sin(Θ) (VanderPlas 2016), with Θ being the angle between the best-fit line and the x-axis. The term “pos-normal” refers to a probability distribution that follows an ordinary normal distribution but is set to zero for negative parameter values, meaning that the parameter is restricted to be positive.
Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.
Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
Initial download of the metrics may take a while.
