Sky distribution of the AGN sightlines considered in this study in Galactic coordinates. The colour indicates the observed LSR velocity of the high-velocity components seen in these directions. As can be clearly seen, the high-velocity absorbers form a velocity dipole on the sky along the LG major axis (see R17). H I 21 cm data from Westmeier (2018) is added in greyscale.
