Schematic representation of the parametrization used in our models for the planet temperature–pressure profile. The atmosphere is composed of two isothermal layers (at temperatures Tbase and Tup) separated bya layer with constant lapse rate d log(p)∕dt. While Tbase is fixed to 1450 K and the base pressure is fixed to 3 bars, the other quantities are varied in a small grid, as explained in Sect. 4.2.
