Cumulative intensity (Icum) of the lowest ionization potential lines used in this study as function of the depth of the cloud for a model with log U = −2, nH = 2.2 cm−3 and tburst = 5.5 Myr. The intensities and the depth are normalized to the values reached at the ionization front. Both [NeII] 12.8 μm and [ArIII] 8.9 μm achieve the maximum emission at 50% of the depth of the cloud, while [NII] 121.9 μm and [ArII] 6.9 μm reach the total emission at the ionization front.
