Table A.1

WISE photometry and colors of the host galaxies, taken from the cross-identification in SDSS DR14.

Source W1 W2 W3 W1-W2 W2-W3
Exemplar 12.93 12.79 12.04 0.14 0.75
Double Irony 13.10 12.95 11.56 0.15 1.39
Difference − 0.17 − 0.16 0.48 − 0.01 − 0.64

Notes. The galaxies are not detected in the W4 (22 μm) band. The detections are weak in the W3 (12 μm) band (signal-to-noise ratio, S/N, of 3.4 for the Exemplar, and S/N = 2.3 for the Double Irony) but the galaxies are clearly detected in the W1 (3.4 μm) and W2 (4.6 μm) bands. The WISE colors of the Exemplar and the Double Irony are consistent with those of FR I radio galaxies.
