Table 3.
Number of nebulae classified in the morphology groups defined in Sect. 2.2 and associated with stars in the subsamples.
Classification | Be stars |
BeXRBs |
Be+sdOs |

---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Nneb | fneb | Nneb | fneb | Nneb | fneb | Potential formation mechanism | |
Aligned bow shocks | 4 | 12 ± 2% | – | – | – | – | High-velocity star |
Unaligned bow shock | 7 | 21 ± 3% | – | – | – | – | Motion of ISM |
Centered | 11 | 32 ± 3% | 1 | 25 ± 5% | 2 | 67 ± 11% | RLOF in binary system |
Unresolved | 6 | 18 ± 2% | – | – | – | – | – |
Not classified | 6 | 18 ± 2% | 3 | 75 ± 5% | 1 | 33 ± 11% | – |
Notes. The first column refers to the classification in shape. The subsequent columns give absolute number and relative frequency of nebulae belonging to the Be star, BeXRB, and Be+sdO samples, respectively. Counting errors are estimated with the binomial error formula . The last column indicates the potential formation mechanism (see Sect. 4.1).
