Sky distribution of all Gaia DR2 sources in Galactic coordinates. This image and the one in Fig. 4 are Hammer projections of the full sky. This projection was chosen in order to have the same area per pixel (not strictly true because of pixel discretisation). Each pixel is ~ 5.9 square arcmin. The colour scale is logarithmic and represents the number of sources per square arcmin.
