Ks-band image from VLT/HAWK-I of LBQS 0302–0019 and Jil with a spatial resolution of 0.″4 (FWHM). From left to right, we present panel a) the original Ks-band image, panel b) the PSF taken from a nearby star properly scaled to the QSO based on the best-fit GALFIT model, panel c) the residual image after QSO component subtraction, and panel d) the residual image with overplotted Lyα contours (red) at 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 × 10−16 erg s−1 cm−2 arcsec−2 and He II λ1640 contours (green) at 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, and 1.2 × 10−17 erg s−1 cm−2 arcsec−2 from the VLT-MUSE observations (Husemann et al. 2018) with a spatial resolution of 1″ (FWHM). Strong PSF residuals from the QSO in the Lyα and He II contours have been masked out for clarity.
