Ablation of Juvinas (eucrite). One can clearly observe the strong effect of the aerothermal heating with the liquid behaviour of the surface flowing along the plasma flow and splashing some droplets of material. In spite of similar experimental conditions and ablation durations (~2–7 s), measured mass losses are highly variable for the different samples. For example, Agen (H) was significantly less ablated (mass loss of 0.16 g) than Granes (L; mass loss of 2.89 g).
