Bottom panel: different epochs and only the outer envelope. The time origin corresponds to the piston trigger (the piston mass cut is located at 1.4 M). A reverse shock forms after ~20 min in the model with the extended low-density envelope. This reverse shock leads to the formation of a dense shell of 0.2 M at m = 2.4 M. For better visibility, all profiles in the top two panels are shifted vertically by a constant.
