Orientation of the convex model of (9) Metis (Torppa et al. 2003; Ďurech et al. 2011) at the two epochs at which it was observed by AKARI. The almost pole-on view (Epoch 1) resulted in a larger observed projected area compared to the edge-on one (Epoch 2). This is contributing significantly to the 20% discrepancy between the two diameters.
