Misclassification – case 2. A “VVDS flag 9: reliable redshift, detection of a single emission line” is predicted by the classifier in the new category “C1” for very unreliable redshifts. The spectrum displays a strong noise component that annihilates the confidence in the measured flux pixels (especially the spectral emission line [OII] 3726 at 7365A). Several redshift solutions are declared as plausible solutions (a multimodal zPDF).
