The lines on top of the dashed line deviate from the canonical IMF above 1 M_⊙, which is the lower mass limit for applying α₃ as defined in Eqs. (2) and (5). This plot is comparable with earlier IGIMF works from Weidner et al. (2013b) and Fontanot et al. (2017).
