Left-hand panel: this paper aims at describing the angular distribution of a 2D Gaussian field κ around a peak in rz. We therefore consider two points on the annulus at a distance r from the central peak. Their respective Cartesian coordinates are rx = r(cosθ,sinθ) and ry = r(cosθ + ψ,sinθ + ψ). Right-hand panel: example is shown of such a 2D Gaussian random field with a power-law power spectrum with spectral index ns = 0. Peaks of height ν = 3 ± 0.5 are highlighted with black dots. We hereby investigate the polar distribution of the field around such peaks.
