An AGILIS concept using the terrain to minimize the delay line stroke requirement. The interferometer is set in a spherical-like depression. Telescopes are moved to a portion of the depression where the source direction is perpendicular to the surface. The requirement on the delay lines stroke is set by: 1) a static term associated to the departure of the local ground surface from a plane, and 2) a dynamic term associated to the desired pointing autonomy, derived from the observed target sidereal motion.
