Notes. The following results are compared for both methods for prescribed vortex diameters of 200 km, 400 km, and 1000 km: the number of detected vortices, the detection rate (Eq. (12)), the position accuracy (Eq. (14)), the corresponding mean position offset (Eq. (13)), the accuracy of determined vortex diameters (Eq. (17)), and the mean error in returned vortex diameter (Eq. (16)).
