Top panel of the upper window: best-fit values of f(z)σ8(z) for galaxies with log (MSTAR [h-1M] ) > 10. The open and solid blue squares show the values obtained by fitting the data with the models given by Eqs. (10) and (16), respectively, in the scale ranges 3 <r [h-1 Mpc] < 35 and 3 <r [h-1 Mpc] < 35. The open and solid red dots have been obtained with the method described in Sect. 5.2.1, fitting the data with the models given by Eqs. (10) and (16), respectively. The black line shows the function ΩM(z)0.545·σ8(z), where ΩM(z) and σ8(z) are the known values of the simulation. For comparison, the grey dots show a set of recent observational measurements from galaxy surveys (see Sect. 5.2.1). Bottom panel of the upper window: percentage systematic errors on f(z)σ8(z), defined as [(fσ8)measured−(fσ8)simulation] /(fσ8)simulation·100, that is, the percentage differences between the points and the black line shown in the top panel. To guide the eyes, the light and grey shaded areas highlight the 5% and 10% error regions. Lower window: best-fit values of and of the method described in Sect. 5.2.1. The grey areas show the regions explored by the method.
