Table 2

For different distances (d) from the Sun, we list the relative numbers of steady-state JFCs () with q < d, and the relative numbers () of JFCs that penetrate at least once inside d during their orbital evolutions.

d (au) 0.5 1.0 1.5 2.0 2.5

0.066 0.366 1.000 2.088 3.577
0.171 0.540 1.000 1.434 1.683

(1) 0.040 0.304 1.000 2.422 4.951
(2) 0.030 0.276 1.000 2.587 5.586

Notes. These quantities are found using purely dynamical lifetimes of the comets. We also list the steady-state numbers (), found when taking account of sublimational erosion of the nuclei, using a power-law index for the cumulative size distribution (CSD) of JFCs of 1.5 and 2.5, respectively, for the two lines. All the numbers are normalized to unity at d = 1.5 au.

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
