Maps of the free-free emission along the Galactic plane, separated into four different longitude ranges. For each l-range, the RRL and Commander estimates are shown in the top and bottom panels, respectively. The maps are in units of K at 1.4 GHz and at 1deg resolution. There is a single contour for each pair of panels, set at a value corresponding to the minimum temperature of the 2% brightest pixels of the RRL map, corresponding to 7.4, 9.6, 4.4, and 0.4 K, from top to bottom, respectively. The white pixels at the location of some bright H ii regions in the maps of the first, third and fifth rows, correspond to saturated pixels in the RRL survey.
