Mean color-excess ratios for the classical Cepheid, Type II Cepheid, and RR Lyrae variables analyzed. The mean near-infrared total-to-selective extinction ratio determined is ⟨RJ,JKs⟩ = 1.49 ± 0.05, and convergence is apparent beyond 3.4 μm. The bracketing fits represent ± 1σ.
