Positions of pre-main-sequence Class II stars (hereafter stars; Megeath et al. 2012) compared to gas density as traced by dust emission (Stutz & Kainulainen 2015). Only stars with radial velocities from Apogee are shown. In contrast to the protostars (Fig. 6) the stars have essentially all left the filament (but see Fig. 11). This dichotomy suggests that protostar accretion of ambient gas is terminated by ejection from the gas columns.
