Notes. In all cases the nominal Gaia observation noise and a nominal attitude noise of 10 μas is used. Case A is an ideal reference simulation, while cases B and C introduce quasar variability with different timescales. In case D we use the IGQL data set to show the impact of a non-uniform sky distribution Fig. 4.
