Residual distance modulus μ_obs − μ_th for different values of the density cosmological parameters Ω_m and Ω_Λ up to z = 2.0. We consider the best fit to be the standard ΛCDM model, where Ω_m = 0.27, Ω_Λ = 0.73, and H₀ = 71 km s^-1/Mpc (black line). Union2 SNe Ia data residuals are shown in grey. The large spread (more than 1 mag) shown by μ at z = 1.5 and at z = 0.145 (the two vertical dashed lines) where the scatter is almost 0.2 mag is clearly evident.
