Average star formation history of galaxies in the three classes as classified by their enrichment history. The figure shows the present day contribution of each stellar population to the total luminosity of the galaxy. All galaxies contribute equally to the average within each class, i.e. the total luminosity for each galaxy has been normalized to one before averaging.
