Observed line widths V2 = (c·ΔλD/λ0)2 [(km s-1)2] versus inverse atomic mass 0 ≤ 1 /μ ≤ 0.05 of metallic lines and 0.20 ≤ 1 /μ ≤ 0.26 for helium singl. and tripl. (from Ramelli et al. 2012; listed in their Table 3, here with error bars). The dotted line connects Na D2 and He singlet with apparent Tkin = 9950 K and Vnth = 2.5 km s-1 but does not fit any width of the other emission lines. The range 0.05 ≤ 1 /μ ≤ 0.20 is omitted.
