Columns 5 and 6 compare the cross-sections from this work with those of HBvR at v = 10457m / s. The broadening cross-section can be determined directly from their line width ((γH /NH )/2 × 1/⟨ vH ⟩ in their notation). In Cols. 7 and 8 the line widths (half-width at half-maximum) at T = 5000 K are compared.
