Notes. For each of the three samples discussed in text (Sect. 5.4.2) we have listed the percentage of sources misclassified at each of the colour boundaries listed in the first column. These percentages have been calculated after the application of the new (JH)0 and blue limit (JK)0 cuts outlined in Sect. 5.4.1 and the TRGB magnitude cut at K0 ≤ 17.41 mag. In brackets we show the percentage of misclassifications if only the (JK)0 cut in the first column and no other criteria are applied.
