Temporal evolution of the X-ray continuum flux (top figure), polarization degree (middle) and polarization position angle (bottom) in the 1−5 keV band resulting from the occultation of a primary source polarized parallely to the disk symmetry axis. The cloud hydrogen column density varies from 10²² cm^-2 to 10²⁵ cm^-2 (columns) and its size relative to the emitting disk ranges from 1.5 to 3 (rows); nevertheless, the cloud’s covering factor is set to 50%.
