Fornax’ and Scuptor’s MDF show striking similarity when the metal-rich group in Fornax is fit with a Gaussian and removed from the convolved distribution. This procedure also reveals the existence of a small population at [Fe/H] = −0.65, which previously has been detected in the inner regions of Fornax and displays distinct dynamical properties from the more metal-poor populations (Amorisco & Evans 2012). Fornax’ MDF (solid orange line) and the subtracted peak (dashed orange line) have been rescaled such that the truncated MDF resembles the same total area as Sculptor’s MDF.
