Examples of 1000 points (red dots) drawn according to different prior distributions from a three-dimensional ellipsoid centered at coordinate (2.0,2.0,2.0) in the parameter space defined by θ1,θ2,θ3 ∈ [0.5,3.5]. Left panel: case of a uniform prior along each coordinate, . The points uniformly fill the entire volume of the ellipsoid. Middle panel: case of a normal prior along each coordinate, . The points are more concentrated toward the center of the ellipsoid while having a doubled spread along the direction of θ2. Right panel: case of normal priors along the two coordinates θ1,θ3 and a uniform prior along the coordinate θ2, . The points are now more concentrated along the coordinate θ2 since the spread only occurs over the orthogonal directions.
