Figure 8 in the paper by Ball & Gizon (2014) is not the figure that we intended to present. It should be replaced by Fig. 1 presented here. Second, the line labels in Figs. 1 and 2 refer incorrectly to Eqs. (2) and (3), where they should instead refer to Eqs. (3) and (4), respectively. The results and conclusions of the paper are not affected.
