Example of evolution of rotation of 1 cm meteoroid. Upper plot: evolution of angular momentum direction with respect to the inertial frame. The numbers denote the distance from the surface in terms of nucleus radii Rc. Lower plot: evolution of the rotational part of the kinetic energy. Stage I of chaotic rotation and Stage II of regular rotation can be clearly distinguished in both plots. In this case the transition between them occurs at about 0.3 × Rc above the surface.
