Effect of mass resolution in the case of SF+MT setup with a critical mass ratio of 500 for the Smoluchowski code. The resolutions included a range from 3 to 40, and the mass distribution is shown after 100 yrs of evolution. The point of breakthrough is very sensitive to the resolution used, and the breakthrough happens only in the low resolution cases, which is clearly nonphysical. The dashed lines mark the density corresponding to 1 and 106 particles of a given mass in an annulus of 0.1 AU width.
