Enlargement 80 × 40 arcsec of the nuclear region of NGC 253 in the Ks image. Orientation is the same as in Fig. 3, and on the X and Y axis are also indicated the RA and Dec coordinates. The black cross is the position of the kinematic center derived by Müller-Sánchez et al. (2010), at α = 00h47m33.17s and δ = − 25°17′17.1′′ (see Sect. 3 for details). The location of the brightest peak of light (IR peak) is indicated by the black circle, which is on the SW side at ~5.5 arcsec far from the kinematic center. On the left side of the image, the straight and dashed black lines correspond to the directions of the disk and bar major axis respectively.
