Histogram of average deconvolved FWHM sizes for AME and non-AME sources, as derived from Gaussian fitting to the Planck 28.4 GHz map at resolution. Sources with FWHM> 2°are plotted as having a FWHM = 2°. The most significant AME sources are shown as the hatched histogram, while the non-significant (non-AME) sources are shown as the grey histogram. The strongest AME sources are, in general, extended, while non-AME sources tend to be relatively compact.
