A variety of commonly used electron density models, which can give very different height estimates. For example, a density of 107 cm-3 can be located at ~1.4 R or ~2.0 R, depending on the density model. Plotted for comparison, the set of density measurements obtained with Mars Express (MEX) between the years 20062008 (Verma et al. 2013).
