The left panel shows temperature (in Teff units) vs. optical depth. The right panel shows the relative temperature difference between our model and other works. The models shown correspond to the solutions of King (1955) (blue lines), Chandrasekhar (1935) (green lines), and this work (red lines). Different models correspond to the grey case (plain), i.e. R = 1, and 2 non-grey cases: β = 0.01, R = 103 (dashed) and β = 0.7, R = 103 (dotted) where R ≡ κ1/κ2. The red and green lines are so similar that they are almost indistinguishable in the left panel.
