Gravitational potential for a thin disk with M = 1    M, ρ0 = 10-15  g/cm3, zgas = 0.05  AU, and varying disk radii in the disk plane. Potential values are normalized to U(0) for r = 1.0  AU. A point-mass potential is plotted for comparison. The disk potential is characterized by a prominent potential minimum located at the disk’s rim especially in compact disks.
