Eq. (12). Panel b) shows the 1D data set from Fig. 1 with a blinded region in the interval  [0.5,0.7] . Panel c) shows again the original signal (red, dashed line), the map reconstructed from the partially blinded data (green solid line), and the corresponding 1σ-interval (gray contour) which is significantly enlarged in the blinded region indicating the uncertainty of the interpolation therein.
