Virgo cluster spiral galaxies with 20 cm polarized emission mainly found at the approaching side of the galactic disk. For all galaxies, except NGC 4302 which is seen edge-on, this asymmetry is probably caused by a quadrupole ASS field topology of the large-scale magnetic field (Braun et al. 2010). Greyscale: optical, contours: 20 cm polarized radio continuum, lines: apparent B field vectors whose sizes are proportional to the polarized intensity. The contour levels are (3,5,8,12,20,30,50,80,120,200,300) times the rms noise levels from Table 1. The black line indicate the galaxy’s minor axis.
