Charge and hydrogenation states (number of H-atoms in the PAH) of coronene (C₂₄H₁₂), circumcoronene (C₅₄H₁₈), circumovalene (C₆₆H₂₀), and circumcircumcoronene (C₉₆H₂₄) as a function of the position in the NW PDR of NGC 7023, with the astrophysical conditions presented in Fig. 2 and with k_+ H2 = 0 and k_+ H(neutral) = 0. Neutral species are in red, cations in blue.
