Estimate of HD 189733b’s global brightness distribution in the IRAC 8-μm channel using multipolar brightness models. Left: relative brightness distribution at HD 189733b’s dayside. Right: dayside standard deviation. a) Estimate using the ΓSH,2 brightness model. b) Estimate using the ΓSH,3 brightness model. These confirm the trend toward a more localized and latitudinally-shifted hot spot when increasing the brightness-model complexity. Therefore, together with Fig. 10 these outline that the more complex HD 189733b’s brightness model, the larger the eccentricity, the lower the densities, the larger the impact parameter and the more localized and latitudinally-shifted the hot spot estimated.
