Notes. A compilation of the criteria mentioned in Sect. 2.3 for the dust species listed in Table 1. The question mark in condensation distance and cross-section for SiO2 and Al2O3 is due to uncertainties in the optical data. Note that amC is a wind-driver in C-type AGB stars whereas all other dust species are considered in the context of M-type AGB stars. For figures showing dust opacities beyond the small particle limit, see Höfner (2008) and Mattsson & Höfner (2011) for Mg2SiO4 and amC, respectively.
